COLLABORATIVELY AND PROFESSIONALLY, WE WILL BUILD THE INDUSTRY, ON OUR TERMS. Associations are a beast to get rolling, but their value to Members and an industry is immense.
Snapshot of the CDWA Two-Year Plan
Phase I, Year 2020-21, Pilot
I. Promote CDWA and its Members to build our industry profile, gain awareness and audience; increase market presence and influence.
II. Develop member revenue from our community of supporters, Owners, Retail and Corporate Donors, Partners and Affiliates. Our success at accomplishing this will help CDWA keep Walker, Boarder, Daycare, Trainer membership dues low and direct new clients to our members.
III. Evaluate feedback and successes, redirect and refocus efforts to hit Industry Plan milestones.
IV. Collaborate within our community to set standards, goals and improve vetting with a focus on standards-based, gainful knowledge and attainability (ie: vetting should grow knowledge, professional practices and credibility, and be possible to attain).
V. Research and Relevance studies to be conducted among our community and with Owners to ensure CDWA is offering the highest-value services and supports possible.
VI. Develop stake member levels and duties, association structure and Advisory Board.
These are identified for Phase I, as they are urgent items that set us up for success, however they will continue to be CDWA priorities ongoing.
Phase II, Year 2022-23, Pilot. As revenue builds, new programs, services and supports are developed collaboratively with all Member segments, and introduced.
II. Membership and relevance growth; Industry influence growth.
III. Negotiations with city/regions commence, to broaden reach and roll out, assert the industry’s self-governance status, and to collaborate on innovative ways to build standards for responsible dog ownership (represents revenue potential for Industry members).
IV. Evaluate success of Pilot, address issues.
V. Identify leadership in all provinces, develop Board of Directors and roll out services to Plan.
