The Leash Team is amazing! My Jovi loves going for walks and on the Doggy Adventures with the whole gang….and I know that he is being well taken care of when he’s with them! He is always happy, and most importantly, nice and tired when he gets home from his excursions with The Leash Team…and if any one has a Doberman, you know how trying it can be to wear them out! LOL
A big thank you to Dan and the whole crew! Jovi and I are so glad we met you!

The Leash Team are not just professionally trained Dog Walkers. They create an environment of FAMILY with both their staff and their dogs. When you truly LOVE what you do, excellence follows and this could not be truer for The Leash Team. I have joined them on one of their walks and the joy is easy to see for both the walkers and the Dogs alike. Your Furbabies are in good hands.

Dan and Bea and the whole Leash Team are so dedicated to the care and happiness of their dog clients. They love my dog Henry like he was their own! I would highly recommend The Leash Team for your dog walking needs. If the dogs could write a reveiw, they would give them 5 PAWS!

January 18, 2021 at 3:34 pmSince Nanook has been spending time with the dog walkers every day he has lost weight and is in much better shape. He always comes home looking like he has had a good time. In fact, the dog walkers always look like they have had a really good time too. It’s a chance for him to socialize with other dogs and with other humans too since he is so friendly by nature.

January 19, 2021 at 8:38 pmThe Leash Team is highly professional. All members are well trained and happy to be doing their work with the dogs. I highly recommend The Leash Team and have recommended to some of my co-workers. It has for sure made my dog happier and made me worry less about leaving him behind when I go to work!

January 20, 2021 at 7:22 pmDan has been dog walking and dog boarding, Ella, for over a year now and we couldn’t be happier with his service and his care of our sweet girl. She absolutely loves her walks with him and the other dogs in the off-leash dog parks and she can hardly contain herself when he shows up to take her on her walks. We walk Ella a lot on our own and we were having The Leash Team just walk her with the pack once a week, but since she enjoys being with the pack so much she now goes with the pack twice a week. I trust and highly recommend The Leash Team’s dog walking services in Edmonton.

The leash team are fabulous. It’s such a great help to have such an accommodating team who you can trust to take care of your fur baby, over night or for walks at the off leash. When I left for a family vaca, my mind was at complete ease knowing that Koda would be enjoying herself to the fullest with all those walks and friends to play with. The walks are a great help to break up Koda’s day. The team is organized and safety is number one.

February 28, 2023 at 6:29 pmI am not a client of this business, but I had the unfortunate experience of my dog being attacked (unprovoked) by one dog they were walking. The dog they were walking had a muzzle and dragging 5ft leash, which in their opinion were adequate measures to mitigate the risk of a highly reactive dog. At the time of the attack, the walker did not physically try to pull the dog off of mine, only verbally called it over. Immediately after the attack, I asked the walker why they would bring a reactive dog to an off-leash dog park. The walker was very cooperative following the attack and offered me the contact information of the business. I feel she handled the aftermath of the attack in a very responsible manner. The same cannot be said for Dan, the owner.
Upon speaking to Dan on the phone after the attack, he said they knew the dog was reactive, but only “in the van” taken for transport, which is why the dog wears a muzzle. They had been walking the dog for over 12 months and were very familiar with her. I questioned him on this statement, as a reactive dog within an area is still likely to be reactive otherwise (especially amidst an off-leash dog park), and I was shocked that a “professional” dog handling business owner had this opinion. He kept repeating that the dog had never been reactive outside of the van, to which I responded that it must have been unlucky then that my dog happened to the first. I again questioned his judgment to put a reactive dog in a position where it could harm others, such as an off-leash dog park, and his justification was that the dog was muzzled and only reactive in the van. As part of the report, I requested the name and phone number of the dog’s owner, and he was reluctant to provide said information but eventually did. He then went on to say that the dog’s owner struggles with her mental health, and implied that it might be best not to tell her or report the attack. I was shocked by this and told him that an owner has an obligation to be accountable for their dog, regardless of their situation. He said they were no longer going to walk this dog and suggest the owner find a walker who can meet the dog’s reactive needs. I told him this should have been his decision a year ago before agreeing to walk a reactive dog they were not equipped for. At this time, he again tried to reason that they didn’t do anything wrong as the dog was not reactive outside of the van. I ended the call and have not had contact since.
When I phoned the dog’s owner two hours after the attack, she was unaware that it had even occurred. I was shocked. How could the company not have informed her within two hours (if not ASAP) of the attack?! I assume it was in hopes that I did not contact her or report the attack, as Dan had alluded to during our phone call. I would never place my dog in the care of a company where they find it acceptable to not notify an owner that their dog was involved in an attack in a reasonable timeframe. The owner then went on to tell me that it was known to The Leash Team that the dog was reactive both inside and outside of the van. She went on to explain that was why the dog wore a muzzle and walked with the leash dragging after her, as those were their “precautions”. I was livid to hear this and could not fathom how both an owner and walking company could be so irresponsible.
It’s obvious to me that Dan knew the dog was reactive in general, which is why they walked it with the leash dragging. I am incredibly disappointed that I was outright lied to several times by Dan, as he was trying to cover up his knowledge of the risk they were taking by having a knowingly reactive dog to an off-leash dog park.
I am disgusted by this company’s choice to prioritize profits/business over the wellness and safety of other people/dogs at the dog park. I would NEVER entrust this company to care for any animal, as in my experience, they have shown to be negligent and incompetent, and are knowingly putting others at risk.
I do not blame the dog at all, but rather the people who put her in that situation.

June 11, 2023 at 9:49 pmI encountered a member of the Leash Team today at Buena Vista Dog Park. I saw the dog walker “Liam” with about 6 dogs walk by me. It was obvious he was a dog walker. About 30 minutes later I realize that there is a dog hanging out around the rest rooms and has been there for approximately 30 minutes. I approach the dog who is starting to show signs of heat exhaustion. This was around 12 pm and the temperature was over 25 degrees Celsius.
The dog was clearly in distress. I filled up a bowl of water and brought it to the dog, he starting lapping it up right away. Others joined me because we thought this dog was lost or had been dumped. He wasn’t leaving this one area. We searched his tags for a collar and tried to call his owner. After about 10 minutes or so the dog walker Liam came towards us. Another lady was speaking with him asking him if this was standard for them to leave a dog unattended at a dog park for over 30 minutes. According to the lady Liam was quite rude to her. I searched up the website and called the owner. The owner was very non chalant saying that the dog “has a mind of his own” to which I responded he has been struggling and been in the same area for quite some time. The owner also informed me that he has a gps tracker on him. To which I asked if the gps tracker monitored the dogs well being and whether or not the dog was being attacked or picked on by other dogs. The owner replied “no.”
I hate to leave a review on for a company that is loved by so many but I worry about the type of care that these dogs have when they are on a walk with this company. This was a public dog park in the middle of a hot day and the dog walker was no where to be seen for 40 minutes. The dog was showing signs of distress and the dog walker didn’t see the issue with his absence. The owner kept making excuses for the dog walker and his behaviour. No dog should be left unattended at a dog park for 40 minutes, gps or not.

June 12, 2023 at 12:22 amI have doubts about The Leash Team. One of the dogs in their care was separated from the pack and was left alone to fend for himself.
When we found him, he was in distress, thirsty, and crying. When the walker came back for the dog, (over 40 mins later) he didn’t seem worried that the dog was left alone. The walker said something about how the dog couldn’t be trained as he was a street dog from another country. He had an attitude and said he was gone for only a few minutes and that he just went down to the lake before coming back to get the dog. (we could not see the lake from where we were standing). He also said he had 7 years of experience and knows what he is doing.
The lost tripod dog was wearing a muzzle, so he couldn’t defend himself if he was attacked by another dog at the off-leash park. Thankfully the other dogs moved away from him when we stepped in. He was clearly uncomfortable.
Where did the dog walker leave the other dogs when he decided he should be looking for the lost tripod?
I hope The Leash Team take the time to reevaluate their practices and prioritize the dogs well being. They may know the dogs in their care like their own dogs, but they don’t know the other dogs they encounter. They are responsible for keeping the dogs safe from harm, which they simply can’t do when they can’t see the dog.

July 6, 2023 at 1:36 pmWith respect to the 1 star reviews from Amie and Brandie, that were left about my dog, Hibo, being left for “30 or 40 minutes”-that is so false and misleading. I encourage you to check the GPS for that day. If my dog was crying (he’s a whiner-totally normal), it was probably because you, a stranger, restrained my dog. That I consider abuse, Brandie. You asked for my phone number, which was given. Yet you didn’t bother to contact me, but rather impugn the reputation of the most professional, caring and truly amazing dog walking company in the city. Although, Amie-you indicated that you contacted me and I was nonchalant-THAT IS A LIE. No one called me. And how do you give water from a bowl to a dog wearing a muzzle-not physically possible. From what I understand, you didn’t even have a dog with you. Get your facts straight, and please leave my dog alone. The Leash Team does not deserve your misguided comments. They have been walking my baby for 5 years, and I trust them implicitly. They know where Hibo is every moment he is with him. You 2 ladies need to MYOB and leave my dog alone. If he was upset-it’s because you upset him. Liam is the most amazing person-Hibo adores him. He has taught Hibo to be part of a group, to be independent, to be cherished, and most importantly to come when he is called (hard for a stray to learn). He doesn’t always come when I call him, but he responds to Liam without question. So ladies, put your efforts toward a company that needs your interest-THE LEASH TEAM is doing just fine without you.

July 6, 2023 at 7:53 pmI can’t say enough about this amazing team of professionals. Monica and the rest of the team have been supportive and instrumental in the training of our rescue, Lucy. The communication between the team and me has been second to none and have every faith that each dog that is in their care gets the care and attention it deserves.
Their training and management is tailored to the unique needs of each dog and is adjusted as required. I resoundingly recommend The Leash Team to anyone who needs a dog walker.

December 29, 2023 at 6:10 pmMy dog, Sascha, has always been super excited when she knows all her friends from the leash are coming to pick her up.
She loves watching and waiting in the front window of my condo where she can see them arriving.
It brings me joy to see the special bond each walker has developed with her. Sascha loves the whole team.
Sascha has been apart of the leash team since she was 5 months old and Dan Myers would come to pick her up for her walk with all her buddies.
Watching The Leash Team grow over the years into such an incredible city wide service has been an absolute privilege for me.
I look forward to seeing Sascha and all her friends start a New Year together in 2024.
I would highly recommend The Leash Team to anyone seeking dog walking services.
