Training + Management Style
Positive Reinforcement, Fear-Free Practitioner
Shannon Martin is an enthusiastic and caring Dog Walker. She believes, first and foremost, that dogs are sentient and family, which means treating them with the patience, love, and kindness that we extend to kin.
In January of 2018 Shannon founded Dog Days Adventures and began her career as an independent Dog Walker. Her practices and ideas are based on Positive Reinforcement learning theory and its principles for canine behaviour, tactics, tools and basic training. For several years, Shannon has dedicated her life to educating herself through formal training, and independently through the written works of Patricia B. McConnell Ph.D., Mary R. Burch Ph.D., Jon S. Bailey Ph.D., Zak George, and more. Shannon's operational insight and skills create positive relationships with her dogs and a great walking experience where dogs thrive. Currently, Shannon is an on-foot walker offering several services such as puppy visits, dog sitting (client home), mid-day group walk (Riverdale exclusive), and she specializes in private walks through the East York and Beaches area.
The goal of Dog Days Adventures is to provide a fun, safe and enriched experience that leaves pups happy and satisfied. With her heart in animal welfare and her eyes set on the future, Shannon is on a mission to provide the kindness, quality, and reliability that pets deserve.

March 1, 2022 at 3:54 amWe have a rescue dog that has quite a few quirks and peculiarities, including leash and dog reactivity, and we couldn’t ask for a more conscientious, knowledgeable, kind, and fun dog walker and sitter! Tilley is in LOVE with Shannon, and we are too! Shannon handles Tilley’s reactivity and peculiarities like the pro she is, and we could not recommend her enough for any and all dogs, especially those who need a bit of extra patience, support, confidence and knowledge.
